Our trail system takes sledders through Beaches Corner, Blair, Ettrick, Happy Hollow, Hixton, Northfield, Taylor, and York. These trails are groomed by the Ridgerunners, who use a 110 H.P. Case IH front wheel assist agriculture tractor to pull a 9'6" x 20' Arrowhead grooming drag. The grooming superintendent and operating crew are grooming the trails 2-3 times a week ensuring the best trail riding conditions. Snowmobile enthusiasts believe these trails are some of the best in Wisconsin. Our trail system is well laid out and consists of two loops, the hub of each being Taylor. The north loop goes from Taylor through the winding pines to Hixton, along the interstate to Northfield, over the hill to York and across the rolling knolls back to Taylor. The north loop also has two short spurs, one of them taking the rider from York to the Pigeon-Osseo intersection while the other spur goes part way to Black River Falls from Hixton. The south loop goes from Taylor through the rolling hills to Happy Hollow, across the flats to Ettrick, over the golf course hill to Beaches Corner, through the old rail road cut to Blair and follows the Trempealeau River back to Taylor. One of our club trails links Beaches Corner to the trail between Taylor and Happy Hollow. This trail crosses over one of the highest points in Trempealeau County. We also have club trails making connecting loops around the city of Blair. Snowmobile safety classes are held each year. The Ridgerunners sponsor the safety class and a one year membership in the youth club following the completion of the course. People of all ages are welcome to call Don Cook at the Blair Taylor High School regarding information about the classes. The youth club currently has 50 members and new interest is always welcome. The Ridgerunners also sponsor a $500.00 scholarship, which is open to graduating youth club members each year. Landowners are highly valued and are given a complimentary membership and a one pound ham on a yearly basis. In April we will be having a landowners appreciation party. Landowner's generosity, feedback and suggestions help our club be the success it is. The annual poker run party is held the 4th Saturday of January and fun lovers come from all over to attend. Ridgerunners report satisfaction in that every person is heard and the ideas of members are valued and implemented. This motivated bunch of people work hard and play even harder, toward snowmobile pleasures that are appreciated by the thousands of folks on the trails each year. New member are always welcome. |
